Compassion: Mission Nicaragua

I was born an MK……I think I will always think of myself as an MK.

I look at pictures and read the words of the bloggers in Nicaragua with Compassion right now, and my heart yearns to be with them.

To speak words of hope and a future, of love and forgiveness to those that are lost, wondering what their purpose is.

Reaching beyond the walls of my home, I blog for Compassion. This is my ministry right now, where God has me.

I remember walking the dusty roads of Mexico, playing with the children, and holding the babies.

Showing love as Christ gives us, love that He places in our hearts for those that are in need of Him.

I remember the dirt floors, the outdoor holes in the ground that were rank with stench under the hot sun, the meals of beans and tortillas over and over again…..

How little we realize we could live with. Here in the USA, we are so blessed……and spoiled.

With our neat gardens, our cars, our computers, our full pantries……

We’ve rarely (if ever) had to try and sell our goods to someone else……much less on the street….

Our children rarely go to bed hungry for lack of food……

The cold of night is easily fixed with a turn of a thermostat and an extra blanket…..

What are we willing to give up?

To reach others with Christ’s love?

To go beyond our comfort zones……beyond the borders of the country we call home…..

As a fellow MK, my heart is right in line with yours! Today I blogged about saving money, determining needs vs. wants, etc. Because I want to give more! What CAN we sacrifice? Much, much more. 🙂

Oh yes! I agree! I would love to give up all I have. That is not where God has called my husband though, so I do my best to give from where I am. Blessings!

My parents were missionaries to Mexico, too! How about that! I have many memories like yours – and a love for the sweet people who were so open to the love of Jesus. Thanks so much for linking up… and reminding us to be willing to “give up” our comforts to reach others.

That is so cool! 🙂 Where were your parents missionaries in Mexico? My dad was actually born an MK in Mexico! Oh yes, a love for them that will never go away. Thank you for stoppin by and sharing! Blessings!

I love your heart that will always be towards missions. May He bless you during this time here, too.

My husband and I are getting ready for a short mission’s trip to Costa Rica. This will be his first trip and my second to this country. But I was 21 when I went before and we are both 3 almost 4 decades older now. 🙂 Most of our team is young and we are to dig a foundation for a church who wants to build on for classrooms. I’m praying for opportunities to share God’s love and be used however he wants to use me.

    Have a great week!

My husband and I are missionaries serving in South Africa and Mozambique. We gave up being with our friends and family, but other than that we live a pretty normal life in Polokwane while we are not in Mozambique or on an outreach.

Thank you for serving the Lord so willingly! You are an inspiration! Blessings!
