As a Christian and a book lover I am always looking for books that teach my children about Christ Jesus. In the past this time of year was when I started to look for a new Christmas storybook for us to read together on Christmas day. I found it very difficult to find ones that were biblically accurate or even close to it. My mom was able to find one that we have come to love, and we have not replaced it. However it is a bit long for younger ones, so I decided to write one of my own to share with you today.
When I began retelling the story of Christ’s birth I went straight to the Bible and went verse by verse. I wanted to ensure that all I was telling was accurate. Our children learn from what we say and do. Using the Bible is very important to teach and train our children, but we must be sure that we are quoting it precisely as God wrote it.
I pray that this retelling of Christ’s birth is a blessing to you and your little ones. May it draw you all close to each other this Christmas season and keep your focus on Jesus throughout these days.
