Welcome to the first Tasty Treats Link Up here at Simply Helping Him!
A HUGE part in being a Help Meet is to cook for our husbands and families. I tend to get tired of the same recipes, and love to find new ones! So I’m hosting a party here on Tuesdays, so I can find some yummy recipes to try out! I hope you will be encouraged to try new things with your family as well!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A lot of the recipes that I will be sharing are non-dairy, because my daughter and I are allergic to dairy. Most of them can be made exactly as written with dairy milk. If I know they can not, I will be sure to note that in my recipe.
The recipe I am sharing today can be made as a non-dairy dessert just by using Coconut Milk (Rice Milk does not work fyi) for the Instant Jello Pudding. It will not set as hard without dairy milk. One great thing is that you will not notice any coconut flavor in the dessert at all either. Please note that I checked the store brand pudding and found that they had dairy in them.
Brownie Berry Pudding Trifle
Ingredients/Grocery Shopping List
(1) Instant Jello Chocolate Pudding (2 Cups of Milk needed)
(1) Instant Jello Vanilla Pudding (2 Cups of Milk needed)
(1) Quart of Fresh Strawberries
(1) Package of Brownie Mix (Oil, Water & Eggs needed)
Step One
Bake brownies according to package directions. Cool, cut and place spaced out in the bowl.
Step Two
Mix pudding according to package directions. Refrigerate for a minimum of 5 min. using dairy milk. If you use coconut milk then I recommend 30-45 min. of refrigeration. The reduced fat content of coconut milk means that it doesn’t thicken up as quickly as dairy milk does.
(I choose to cover the bowls with plastic to prevent the top from getting hard.)
Step Three
Clean strawberries and slice.
Step Four
Create your dessert by layering all of your ingredients.
Brownies, Vanilla Pudding, Strawberries, Chocolate Pudding, etc.
Step Five
Make your last layer strawberries and enjoy! Bon Appetite!
Without further adieu…..link up your tasty treats below!
