I’ve been forgiven. More times than I can count. By more people than I probably even know about.
I’ve been forgiven. By the only One who truly matters. He who died for me, on a tree. Hung there, bled there, gave up Himself for me.
Forgiven. I am forgiven.Β
So why……is it hard for me to forgive? Even those closest to me?
I don’t have to bleed, hang or die to offer forgiveness.
Yet, this……forgiveness is hard for me.
I could blame it on the mental and emotional abuse from my past. I could say it’s just a part of being human….a sinner.
While all those play a part….they are truth….I do not want, no, I won’t allow these things to win.
I want to forgive as I have been forgiven. I don’t want to hold grudges when I’ve been wronged, or when someone I love has been.
I want to truly live out “Let Go and Let God”.
Holding onto things wears you down. Emotionally. Mentally. Eventually physically as well.
Life becomes more exhausting, your spirit sours and your attitude becomes bitter.
Peace and an unforgiving spirit can not abide in the same heart. Β <—- Tweet
You must be willing to let go. Let God handle the situation, the person. He’s better at it anyway.
Forgiveness is a gift. From God. He’s given us the gift.
We in turn must share this gift. It was freely given to us. Now we must give it away ~ freely!Β

This is so great! Forgiveness really is a gift and one that should be shared with others! π Thanks for linking up!
Yes, it must be shared! Thank you for stoppin by! π

Misty, you closed this link up party fast! Sorry I couldn’t get to it yesterday. This is so great. I was just outlining a post for forgiveness yesterday. Great minds think alike π Blessings to you.

IO kept thinking of the saying, “To err is human but to forgive is divine.”
Yes, Jesus provides the “divine” in us so we can forgive as humans! π Thanks for stoppin by! Blessings!
Rejoicing in the gift of forgiveness with you. Thank you for linking in community with us.
Yes! Forgiveness is great means for rejoicing! Thank you for stoppin by! Blessings!
This is SO good girl!! I have the HARDEST time letting go and letting God when it comes to forgiveness. And what right do i have to feel that way? I have NONE! I mean what would we do if God thought of us or treated us how we treat situations we are in with people…with our LOVED ones? EEK! I shudder to think!
Yes, so true. We should shudder to think what our lives would be like if God treated us the way we treat others. Holding grudges, not forgiving and forgetting. We must hand it over to Him! He will take control of it all, if we just let go! Thank you for stoppin by! Blessings!
What a wonderful post on forgiveness. God is so good – His love and mercy are amazing. Bless You!
Amen! That He is and yes they are! π Blessings!
Misty ~ Love this post!
Ah forgiveness … it is hard and should be because it gives us a teeny tiny peek at the meaning of grace and how awesome it is that God forgives us without question (as long as we repent!). When I realize I’m holding onto something I always think about standing in front of God at the Bema judgment and him tripping over times when I didn’t or was slow to forgive and that usually propels me forward! π
In His Love,
Felecia
Forgiveness is so important and yet, as you’ve described, sometimes so hard to choose. Thanks for reminding us that peace and unforgiveness cannot coexist. Great post, friend!
Yes, it is hard sometimes. Looking to Him is the answer to get strength to forgive as He does! Blessings!
I can forgive, as in let go of the anger, pretty easily. But I have a harder time forgetting and moving on as if things are the same.
Yes, letting go and moving on is sometimes the hardest of forgiving. Thanks for stoppin by!
we are neighbors @ wip…wonderful post…the older I get the more I see…underneath so many problems are seeds of unforgiveness…I have been ponder this myself and God has been teaching more about my heart…about His heart. thanks for this…blessings~
Yes, so much is buried underneath….so many times unforgiveness is the root of many problems. Thank you for stoppin by!
“I wonβt allow these things to win.” It’s a choice, and it takes strength to believe and walk in His grace and truth. Thank you for sharing your heart.

Amen! It all is a choice and one the He will provide the strength and direction for! Thank you for stoppin by!
I love the application of “Let go and Let God” to forgiveness. I believe that’s really what we have to do in these situations.
No link-up today? I can’t find it.
