Teaching Tuesday ~ Review & Giveaway

I am happy to be writing a review today and featuring the product on Teaching Tuesday. This tool has become a huge part of our lives and I love it! I am eager to share what I believe is an amazing tool to teach and train our children according to God’s Word.

The product I am speaking of is the Child Training Bible. For those of you who are new to the CTB, I’m thrilled you’ve stopped by to read and learn about it!

I want to share my experience and then I will go over the CTB kit and how you can use it.

My experience & Review

I have wanted to use God’s Word more in training my children over the last two years or so, but I never could “come up” with a scripture during the “heat of the moment.”

As a homeschool mom, I am always looking for new and better ways to incorporate God’s Word into our classroom and lives.

As a blogger I utilize many different social networks and it was while using Pinterest that I first came across the CTB.

I immediately knew that this is what I had been looking for. I watched and listened to their video and heard the passion in their voices! I had felt the same passion for teaching my children via God’s Word, yet had not come up with a system that worked.

I ordered everything that I needed to create my own CTB that day. I checked on the individual items on order EVERY DAY! I was so excited to get started!

As soon as I received the last item needed I sat down and began putting it together. I didn’t stop until I was finished! My children would stop playing once and awhile, just to check out what I was doing. They were intrigued!

I implemented using the CTB anytime we ran across an issue. I sit down and we read through all of the tabs for the issue we’re facing. I take time and ensure they understand what they’re reading.

Sometimes the children grab the CTB, sit down and read it themselves. Other times they fight reading, this I believe is because they do not like being shown they’re wrong, and do not like the conviction. All of this is part of our human nature, we want to be right ~ in ALL we do.

This fall, I plan to begin to studying one section at a time in detail, with my children. I do not want them to believe I am using it only as a tool when they’re misbehaving. I want to dig into God’s Word with them, discuss, understand and change together ~ to be more like our heavenly Father.

What the CTB is and How You Use it ~

The CTB is a biblical tool, that is used directly within the pages of a Bible!

There are 20 key areas covered that most children struggle with. Topics such as; anger, disobedience, defiance, not listening, etc.

Enclosed in the CTB Kit are ~ 1 CTB Key Card, 3 Scripture Tabbing Charts (double sided with questions for discussion on each topic) and a set of instructions.

The CTB Key can be taped/glued on the inside right page of the Bible or on the top of the Bible itself.

The additional items you will need to create your own CTB are; sticky note tabs and highlighters or colored pencils. CTB has links for the tabs and highlighters on their website.

As you place the tabs on the page of the scripture passages listed, be sure to line them up, this makes it neat and easy to follow.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and would love to see some pictures of your CTB’s! Feel free to leave a link to yours in a your comment!

I am pleased to announce that the CTB has donated a set of their key and charts to one of y’all!

Below is a rafflecopter entry form, please take a moment, check it out and enter to win your very own set!

Thank you so much CTB for donating this to one of my readers!
