Our Moments

This morning brought the scriptures from James 4:13-14

“Go to now, ye that say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

It’s so easy to get lost in the moment. Forgetting that the moment we are in is all we have. What are we doing with our moments?

This moment I am typing, while my children are upstairs giving me the last 30 minutes of quiet that I will have for 15 hours.

This moment, I am writing. Writing what God places on my heart early in the morning.

I love to write. I write better than I speak. This is something God has gifted me with, the ability to write. Each day I pray that the words that God places on my heart will minister to you.

This is my moment.

What about the rest of my moments throughout the day? Will they minister to my husband and my children?

Our moments in our days, are such a blessing that we take for granted. Each laugh we hear, each smile we see, each hug we receive, all to be cherished.

Take in the moments. Breathe deeply. Look around. Take in the blessings you have in your life. Thank Him for the blessings you have.

I am a planner. I don’t like last-minute plans. God led me to a wonderful man, that would teach me more about living in the moment. I am still learning and have a long way to go. My husband, is one who plans on the last-minute. Not worrying about the details or what will happen.

If I in myself get hung up on the details with my husband’s last-minute plans, I don’t enjoy those moments. I stress and it’s no fun for myself or my family. This is something I must learn.

Living in the momentSeems so easy….

Live in your moments today….

Make the most of your moments….

  1. Life is fleeting and the older you get the faster it goes. I am so thankful for the days the Lord has given me. I am learning each morning to thank God for each new day that He gives me, and in the evening before I close my eyes to thank Him for all the blessings of that day. How good it is also to share with those who accompany our days just how much we appreciate, love and enjoy them!

    1. Amen! Each day we must be thankful for, they are truly a gift. I am learning to take in the moments. Hold and hug my kids a little more. Enjoy the days with my husband. It’s wonderful finding kindred spirits! 🙂

  2. What a wonderful post! Coming over to visit from Thankful Thursday. Nice to “meet” you! 🙂 I wrote a blog post awhile back on what the Bible says about worrying, and boy, just writing the post was convicting. I definitely tend to be a worrier and am working on the “let go and let God” live in the moment attitude. 🙂 Many blessings, Lisa

  3. So I just submitted a guest post on this very topic to another blog! I was writing it this morning. I find myself so often getting caught up with either worry or just an anxiousness to be done with the present and move on to what’s next, that I miss the blessings in today.

    Thanks for sharing!
