Freedom….Memories….(Just Write)

Yesterday was my first actual “link up” with my blog.
As I was going through other blogs
I found many that were dedicated to Memorial Day,
remembering those that we’ve lost and those we’ve served.

Yesterday I wasn’t ready to blog about it yet,
I wanted to go through my day remembering
those that I know serve now and being
thankful for what those that have gone before provided for us.

So I may seem a day late,
but it was intentional.

I am a PROUD Chief’s Navy Brat.
I have been blessed to have a daddy,
that protects and provides freedom
for our country.
I am also a PROUD AME2 Navy Sister.
My brother is carrying on the legacy,
protection and freedom that our dad
has provided.

I realize more and more each day it seems,
that we have forgotten what
our military do and mean to us.

We say thank you for providing our freedom,
but do we realize just what that means?
What daily freedoms do we realize
we wouldn’t have it weren’t for
our military?

The first thing that I know all too well
I wouldn’t have,
is Freedom of Religion.
Worshiping the Lord,
when, where and how I want.

Freedom to home school my children,
that is a great blessing to be sure!

Freedom of speech,
I don’t have to be afraid of what I say,
or to who I say it.
There is obviously wisdom
in seeking the Lord’s guidance
before voicing a tough subject.
Yet I know in America
I can do so with the Lord’s direction.

We are the Land of the Free BECAUSE of the Brave!

So the next time you say “Thank you for serving our Country“,
think about what a specific freedom you’re thankful for,
and mention it!
Sometimes it becomes just something we say.
Show our servicemen and women that you
really mean what you say!
That you realize EXACTLY what they
are doing and providing for each one of us!

Never forget that while they are out protecting
our country and the freedoms we so enjoy,
they are leaving behind loved ones.
Their loved ones also deserve our respect.
They keep the home fires burning,
waiting anxiously for their loved one to return to them.

Leaving for months, even years at a time,
they put their life on the line.
Going alone, without a “home”,
no one to hug and be close to at night.

This is duty, this is sacrifice,
this is the military life.

We also have another freedom provided to us!
This freedom we take for granted more often,
that that of a a free country it seems.

Never forget that we are free in Christ
BECAUSE He obeyed His Father
and obediently went to the Cross!

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!

IT IS BOUGHT WITH BLOOD
AND SACRIFICE!
