What Ifs….with Wisdom Wednesday Link Up

How many times have you taken yourself back to the past? Wondered how different life would be had you made a different choice?

In some recent years I would find myself travelling back in time….thinking how different things would be.

As I’m sitting here tonight….alone….my mind began to drift to years gone by.

In an instant I had the thought…”How much time have I wasted wondering…..thinking/dwelling on the “What if’s?”

I have so many blessings, many I’m sure I often don’t even count.

We can’t change our past….can’t make a different choice…so why do we waste our time thinking on the “What if?”

We are discontent. Ungrateful. <—  It’s true. Tweet Me.

Yet grace and mercy are provided to us each day. New every morning.

Thankfulness and joy must take the place of regrets, what if’s, etc. Only then will we see how truly blessed we are.

Counting….

My lil blessings that are a part of my past and my future

My Savior that gave up Himself for me

My home and the comforts that I take for granted it provides

The sounds of a busy home, for one day I will miss them

  1. How many times have I thought about the what ifs in life! It’s crazy…BUT the comforting thing is the more i’ve released myself to Him the less I think of those what ifs. Totally awesome!

      1. Stopped back to thank you for linking up over at WholeHearted Home. I read your post again and thought more deeply on it since it is late 🙂 and you know, it is really true. We need to be thankful for where the Lord has taken us and look ahead not back. Lot’s wife looked back and look where it got her!!

  2. When I get stuck in the “if onlys” I try to remember that it’s those things that likely shaped me the most into who I am today. Thanks for hosting and linking up with WIP!

  3. Love that you are thankful for the sounds of your house – I often am so tired of the noise I can’t muster the thankfulness for it, because I do know that I will want it back one day.

And I love this link up – thanks for hosting – am a new email subscriber – would love for you to stop by my Reading List and join in the fun there as well

  4. This is so thought provoking. I too spend a lot of time on “what ifs”. I would like to change the things that displeased God, the sins. But I am here today because I am forgiven, redeemed and restored an none of that would have been possible if the “what ifs” had been different. Thanks for making me think and be thankful.
