Blog Tips and Chicken & Potato Pot Pie Recipe with Tasty Treats Link Up

It doesn’t seem possible that I’m working on the 2nd year that I’ve been typing away here in my corner, yet the calendar does not lie. I’m less than 10 posts shy of hitting 500 posts as I’m typing this now, and that both terrifies and excites me! LOL! πŸ™‚

Today I’m sharing my top 10 blog tips over at Womanhood with Purpose. From many hours lost to learning the ways of the blogosphere, to ways that God has worked in me through writing. I finally remembered to share a recipe and the Tasty Treats Link Up this week! Yahoo!

My hubby is a meat and potato kinda guy and I love pot pie SO……I decided to make a hubby friendly pot pie last week! It was a HUGE hit with him AND the kiddos! SCORE!

I know my hubby isn’t the only meat and potatoes kinda guy, so I’m hopeful that someone else will benefit from this recipe. πŸ™‚

 

Chicken & Potato Pot Pie Ingredients

6 Chicken Thighs

8-10 Medium Potatoes

3 Cups of Chicken Broth

3/4 Cup Milk

1/3 Cup Flour

3/4 Tsp. Salt

1/2 Tsp. Pepper

1 Tsp. Thyme

1/2 Tsp.Garlic

1/2 Tsp. Parsley

 

Step One

Chop potatoes.

Step Two

Place Chicken and Potatoes in water.

Boil for 20 minutes.

Step Three

Make pie crust. Β (You’ll need a double recipe of this.)

Roll out Β half of the dough and lay into a 9×13 pan.

Step Four

Combine Milk & Flour in small bowl.

Step Five

Stir Milk & Flour with a fork until well combined.

Step Six

Place Milk & Flour mixture into a sauce pan.

Stir in spices.

Cook until bubbly and thickened.

Step Seven

Cut chicken into strips.

Add chicken and potatoes to milk and flour mixture.

Bring to a slight boil.

Step Eight

Pour mixture into prepared crust lined pan.

Cover with 2nd half of pie crust.

Pinch edges.

Place 6-8 slits in the top of the pie crust.

Step Nine

Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

      Oh it is super easy and delish! You can add peas and carrots too! My hubby just doesn’t like them in pot pie. When I make it for me I add them πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stoppin by! Blessings!
