Organizing Challenge with Link Up

Is your home an organizing challenge?

Organizing in my home can be a challenge. A lack of closets and two kiddos sharing a bedroom don’t make it any easier. Yet, still I must press on! 🙂

Organizing  the kiddos room 

I rearrange it every few months. This enables us to deep clean, purge and reorganize. About two months ago I put all of their toys in under the bed Rubber Maid Containers. The only exceptions were games and books. I’ve found by providing a container for things to go under their beds, it keep the floor clean and the room tidy.

Organizing the Homeschooling curriculum

This is organized at the beginning of the school year. I have a bookshelf where everything for the year is stored. I organizing my entire school year using a 3 ring binder, which is divided by subject. Each subject has lessons/units planned out in detail for the whole year. I print all of the activity sheets and lapbook accessories before the year begins. For each subject I have a materials list, broken down for weekly needs. This enables me to purchase things as I need them. I use a simple planner (from the dollar store usually) to keep track of daily work and grades. At the end of our school year I store all workbooks, worksheets, art, etc. in a box should the state ever request to see proof of our homeschooling.

Organizing the Kitchen and Grocery Shopping

These two go hand in hand for me. I utilize a master grocery shopping list, which helps me to keep my cupboards organized. I have to be able to put my hands on things in order to know what I need, or don’t need. Having this list allows me to look through it for what I need to get while shopping. I find that having this list saves me time. It also saves me money as it keeps me from buying things I don’t need.

Organizing My writing schedule

Somehow (LOL) this has become busier in the last few months, and will continue to grow as the months progress. So, I’ve had to organize all my obligations, so I do not miss any due date. I’ve found that tackling my obligations a month at a time works really well. This allows me to write my own content on a weekly basis, as God speaks to my heart.

There are many more ways I would love to be organized, but these are four areas I find require the most detailed way of handling them.
