I Will…..
* Show good manners
* Reject violence as a solution to my problems
* Look for ways to ease the pain of others
* Not annoy or irritate others
* Be a peacemaker
Week One Activities
(Working on ~ Showing good manners)
Make a chart showcasing manners you’d like to see improved…..give stickers/rewards for each manner you observe being used properly
Week Two Activities
(Working on ~ Rejecting violence as a solution to my problems)
Ensure hitting, biting, yelling, etc. is known to be prohibited behavior. Train in instances where anger is evident, teaching family members to talk and discuss the issues at hand; whether with each other or a parent if needed.
Week Three Activities
(Working on ~ Looking for ways to ease the pain of others)
During family time discuss how you can be gentle with those in pain or going through a difficult time. If you have the ability to touch someone’s life, now would be a great time to practice the gentleness you’re trying to teach.
Week Four Activities
(Working on ~ Not annoying or irritating others)
When an attitude or behavior bothers someone, stop and discuss with both family members why, Teaching them to be sensitive to other’s feelings.
Week Five Activities
(Working on ~ Being a peacemaker)
During family time discuss the art of being a peacemaker. Teach them that you don’t have to be in the wrong to move and make peace. You can be the bigger person by moving first, righting the wrong and be the peacemaker in doing so.
