The week of Thanksgiving had a few wonderful posts, but there was one that truly struck me.
Sharita with 7 Days Time shared her post When Giving Thanks is Hard
This year started out very hard for my family. My father in law was diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time. Then it kept moving and in April we said our final goodbyes. This was truly a very difficult time for us. It was during this time that the song, “Praise You in the Storm”, got me through my days. Be sure to swing by her corner as I’m sure you will be blessed!
Last week, my friend Roz from A Little R & R, shared her post A Marriage of Tradition
This year, I decided that I wanted to actually be able to see, enjoy and cherish our Christmas season. My husband and I have very different family traditions, due to our different family backgrounds, so I totally understand what Roz is saying here. Her list of changes and how she plans to enjoy it is wonderful! Stop by and check out her post, you will be blessed!

When your feelings are numb, all seems exhausting and you’re not sure what’s wrong….
This is where I am……
Is it the difficulties of parenting this last week? Work? Stressed relationships?
Rest…..I choose to rest….
Piano Christmas music….by Christmas light….Hot tea on a cold night….
My thoughts wander as the pianist’s fingers hit the keys…..
Did I really play the piano….or violin….or was it just a dream?
Sing…..organize and run a choir? A youth choir?
Time escapes me….I’ve been a mother for a decade…..
All things known before fade in my memory….
Rest…..I choose to rest and count…..gifts…..
My piano…..my violin….my memories…..my messiness….. for out of it God will create beauty in me.
Update….Sunday night after I wrote this post, God’s peace came over me in such a profound way. I can not even explain it, He was there just when I needed Him to be. Just as He always is. How awesome is our God.

Excellent post choice there girl! REST! Yes… Rest in the Lord and His Arms and He will give you strength and joy… Bless You!
Oh yes, strength AND joy! 🙂 Blessings sis!
Thanks for the pingback, sister… I am just overwhelmingly thankful for a God who is with us ALL the time– and He IS our shelter in the storm, no matter how bad it’s raining.
You’re so very welcome! 🙂 It is amazing that He is all that we need, no matter what we are going through! Blessings sis!
Lovely.
Wishing you much rest this advent season- rest in Him, the best kind 🙂
He knows how to give good gifts to his children!
Thank you! 🙂 Yes, resting in Him is THE VERY BEST KIND! 🙂 Blessings friend!
Ahhh – thanks for featuring me. 🙂 ((hugs)) That’s me – enjoying hot tea and some downtime…since baby is sick…again – it’s a good excuse to kick back and let a few things go. My decision has so released me to enjoy family, enjoy the season, and do some fun things with the kids – like one Christmas activity a day. We are all having fun!!!
Isn’t that wonderful! I’m sorry the baby is sick 🙁 Having some hot tea and down time is a great idea! 🙂 I’m having my coffee right now! 🙂 Love ya!
Still, my soul be still, and remember that He is all you will ever need.
Thank yoU!
Oh yes He is! 🙂 Blessings sis!
Thanks Misty! Another sweet post. Rest is a good thing!

You’re very sweet 🙂 Thank you! Blessings to you sis!
