Cautiousness vs. Rashness
Definition :
“Knowing how important right timing is in accomplishing right actions”
I Will
* Think before I act
* Follow safety rules
* Ask permission
* Talk at the right time
* Look out for danger
Week One Activities
(Practicing ~ Think before I act)
*When an activity or an idea is present, talk about it. Ensuring it is a wise decision for all involved.
* Don’t just say Yes or No ~ teach them to think it through.
Week Two Activities
(Practicing ~ Follow safety rules)
* When taking a walk or riding a bike talk about all of the safety rules involved AND enforce them.
Week Three Activities
(Practicing ~ Ask permission)
* With siblings, encourage them asking to play with each other’s toys
* Teach them to thank each other when they remember to do so
Week Four Activities
(Practicing ~ Talk at the right time)
* Knowing when a topic is for you to discuss or not requires caution. Sometimes it’s not a topic you should jump in on.
* Teach the family to listen and if it’s not a topic for them, teach them to keep quiet.
* Teach family not to interrupt. By placing a hand on your arm so you know they have something to say (thanks Amy Hedderly)
*If they need to wait a bit use the sign for “wait”
Week Five Activities
(Practicing ~ Look out for danger)
*Danger lurks everywhere, choice, actions, friends, etc.
* Encourage using eyes & ears to look out for it.

I really like that you’ve thoroughly thought this through. The concept of what you want to teach your children paired with a few weeks of learning activities is sure to cement this into their brain. Thanks for sharing. Visiting from Thriving @ Home Thurs.
