I always felt welcome.
Back home.
Sometimes it’s hard to find the place where you fit in, even after almost a decade.
I realize that to feel welcome, I too must allow others to feel welcome.
In my home, in my life.
Welcoming someone is a gesture, accepting them into your little world.
No matter what they bring along with them.
Be it baggage or encouragement.
Good times or bad times.
Welcoming as God welcomes us.
He doesn’t sent us packing when we show up at His feet with our baggage.
He relieves us of the baggage and helps us pick up and move on.
Welcome.
I want to always make everyone feel welcome in my home. In my life.
Great friends, good times, growth, strength, patience.
All these things can only come once you’ve welcomed them in.
I miss feeling welcome back home.
I miss home.
Yet, here is where the Lord has me.
Here is where I must ensure everyone feels welcome in my home.
Welcoming them means I must open my home and my heart.
As God does for me.
I am always welcome at His feet. In His arms.

This is the second time I’ve been to your page in as many days. Yesterday I was looking at some home schooling stuff and today we’re on the same “row”at 5mf. love what you’ve written here today. i’ve often wondered if practicing hospitality helps us open up our hearts to be hospitable places for the Lord to begin to work.

That “opening” of which you speak? That is at once beautiful and difficult. Being open isn’t always easy, especially when we think we must present ourselves in a certain way.
