Lately I’ve been striving to turn over some new leaves….to change things in myself that just don’t belong….
Things that don’t make me more like Jesus…..
I am not a fly by the seat of my pants person….I am a planner….I like to know when, where, how, etc.
In the midst of all these changes, I’m finding that there is no schedule, process, or estimated date of completion.
This is not the first time I’ve attempted to make some of these changes, yet there are a couple things that I’ve come to learn.
1. The Proverbs 31 Woman didn’t do everything in one day….
it was done throughout her whole life!
(Thank you Courtney @ Women Living Well)
2. We won’t be changed overnight.
(Thank you K.P. Yohannan @ Gospel for Asia)
These truths were things that I never took to heart, or even realized to a certain extent.
In the past when I failed to change according to my scheduled plan, I would give up because I “couldn’t” do it…..it was too hard.
So here I am again…..ready for change…..in the midst of hoping…..striving to become more like my Savior.
This time I am on His schedule, for He placed change on my heart.
This time I will accept His grace……after all, I will stumble and fall…..
Change doesn’t happen overnight.

Absolutely! 🙂 Thank you for stoppin by! Blessings!
Love this! You’d think by the time I’ve reached my FIFTIES, I would have this lesson down, but nope. Still working on it. Thanks
I don’t think we ever stop working on things…..as much as I would like to think we do, I think it is a lifetime process. 🙂 Thanks for stoppin by Auntie Em 🙂
Oh yes – change is slow – but it’s supposed to be that way. because there are lessons along the path that we learn, that will help us grow more like Jesus. It’s not so much the destination as the journey that is important.
Oh so true sis! Thank you so much for the reminder! Love ya! 🙂

Yes, change is usually slow.
I haven’t worried about making changes in myself for the last eight years, simply because, in order to negotiate the various, um, challenges life has been throwing my way, I have been literally hurling myself into His arms, just to get through each day. And I’ve found, over the last eight years, that I have changed a lot — without my actively trying to make the changes myself. You are changing, my friend, and in the process of graciously living life, if you literally throw yourself at Him, you’ll change.
And speaking of change, this week’s article is the Exhausted Smiley Face Emoticon, number 77, which is rapidly becoming a default in the way we communicate with one another, taking the sting out of what could potentially be a confrontational statement, like, “You need to change. Now. :-).” If we take a little more time, we can communicate — via e-mail, text, or blog — more effectively, and leave this emoticon on the keyboard keys.
Yes, oh yes…..throwing myself at Him……letting Him change me how and when He wants 🙂 Thank you for stoppin by and linking up! Blessings!
LOL- I put my name in the name spot . . . I should listen to your advice- don’t do bloggy thing when the kids are up 😉 And- encouraging post- thanks 😉

You are so right…we want things to happen on our schedule…but God always knows what He’s doing. This can be a real assurance. Thanks for your words and for hosting this link up.
Yes, assurance from heaven above is what we need to be looking for! Thank you for stoppin by! Blessings!
