I think sometimes we feel intimidated with the word “faithful” because we look at it in the long term rather than in the here and now.
We know that to become “faithful” we must live our lives for God, doing His will.
Focusing on our entire lives at once is a very daunting task. It is no wonder that we struggle at times with wondering if we’ll ever be counted as “faithful”. When we attempt to take on becoming “faithful” today we’ll become frustrated and we will fail.
When I stop to think of those that I see as “faithful”, people like Hudson Taylor, Corrie Ten Boom and Nate Saint come to my mind. As well as loved ones whom I’ve been blessed to know like my Pepaw, my Daddy and my Mother.
How did they and so many others become faithful men and women of God? How did their lives become a picture of faithfulness?
The answer is simple…
One. day. at. a. time.
Each day we are given opportunities to become more like our Savior and follow His Father’s will.
Some days we will walk alongside and do His will whatever it is. Other days we’ll choose to go our own way and lose a few steps.
We must never forget and always remember that…
Faithfulness is not attained in one giant leap or one act of faith. It is grown throughout a lifetime of God given opportunities with successes and failures along the way.
