This post has been relocated to my new blog which launches Jan. 1st, 2014. I pray you’ll be blessed when you follow this link to read the post after the new year.
Gentleness is to be in essence a part of everything we are.
Our words, our spirit and our mindset.
Our Greatest Gentleness Example
Jesus is our greatest example of all that we should be, and we should compare ourselves only to Him. For it is Jesus we want to imitate; in words, spirit, mindset and action.

Thanks for this! I am very shy and introverted but when I taught I was told by a principal that I wasn’t very ‘warm or fuzzy.” It hurt my feelings but over the years, I have realized that she is right. I am not a naturally gentle person. I am going through the Unglued Challenge now because I really want to cultivate that trait in myself.

My grandfather once told me something that really stung, but years later and unfortunately after he was gone to be with the Lord I realized how right he was. Sometimes it is the hard thing we hear that push us to be better and make us stronger. Praying that gentleness is grown in you! Blessings!

Gentleness doesn’t come naturally for me, but it is a character trait I have been pursuing and for which I have been praying for several years. Thank you for your insight and wisdom!

You’re brave dear sis! Praying for something like Gentleness takes guts! 🙂 I once made the “mistake” of praying for patience! LOL! When I admitted that to someone they told me I never should have prayed for it! I can definitely see where God started training me after that prayer! 🙂 Thanks for stoppin by and my your prayers be answered SOON! 🙂 Blessings!

Love # 3 and # 4 and sometimes they take the most work when we get busy or frustrated. At least for me. Gentleness is such an important fruit to cultivate. Linking today with Thrilling Thursday.

Yes, when we are busy or frustrated we are less likely to be gentleness, but oh how I know that is the MOST important time to be that! Thank you so much for stoppin by! Blessings!

Loved your words on gentleness! Your four points on how to exhibit gentleness will be reminders to me as I start a new school year teaching third graders on Sept. 3. Thank you for allowing me to link up.

Thank you for posting. When I think of gentleness, I think of how we interact with our animals — one must be gentle with them, kind, yet firm — that last part is frequently forgotten when we talk about gentleness, but it’s an important factor. If you’re not firm, an animal will literally walk all over you, and all the kindness you express toward them won’t go anywhere. As a fairly kick-butt person who doesn’t like to be pushed around, I thought for the longest time that gentleness was something beyond me, but when I acquired animals, I realized, “No, I do have the capacity to be gentle. Tough. But gentle.”
I am number 55 this week — Encourage Your Child to Read. This is a fun, easy way of getting even the reluctant reader to see the value and beauty of books.
And number 56 — Yukon Gold “French Fries.” Good stuff. Inexpensive, healthy, cheap, yummers.

Gentleness I believe is more a state of our spirit, rather than how we act. We can be gentle, but firm with our children. Ensuring we’re reaching their hearts vs. just instructing. We must take the time to explain why we’re saying things, gently encouraging them to trust us. Thanks for stoppin by to link up! Blessings!

Gentleness is one of those fruits that the Holy Spirit is hard at work growing in me still…my Mother was so kind and gentle…my husband often wonders if I was adopted??? I am very convicted by your post…particularly about the temper and the buttons…it is my underdeveloped fruit of self-control which keeps me from exhibiting the kindness and gentleness I need to be more Christ-like, but I trust in Him, for He has done great things in me already! So I know His plan is perfect and His fruits will continue to grow in me/us. Thanks for your post and for the linkup! Blessings!

This post was written to me, as much as anyone else. I am not of the gentle type, though I am praying more and more to become more so. It is not something that comes easily for me, but I know it is what God would have me to be! Thanks for stoppin by! Blessings!

It’s pretty amazing how your post on gentleness ties in with the one my husband wrote this week (Control vs. Authority: How God Operates). Our “default” in our flesh is harshness, but when we walk in the Spirit, gentleness is our default. Thank you for the reminder this morning!

Yes, it is “built in” us to react harshly, rather than gently. This is something that I am striving to do better at! Thank you for stoppin by! Blessings!

I love how Jesus speaks so gently to Martha (though He is rebuking her). This strikes my heart each time I read that passage.
Thanks for hosting and sending me an email to remind me each week. Have a wonderful week.
