I’m thrilled to start a new series today! I have been so blessed by all of the bloggers that link up with me on Wednesdays. I wanted a way to share some of their blogs with you and give them a bit of spotlight here at Simply Helping Him.
So beginning today, Saturdays here will be “SpotLight Saturday” and the blog/blogger being spotlighted will be someone that links up with me on the previous Wednesday.
This week, God spoke to my heart using the story that Felecia shared over at A Life Sanctified. Her story We Are the Hunger, touched my heart.
So often we go through our lives, without thought of those suffering in our state, hometowns, and possibly our neighbors. Felecia shared with me that she thought many people don’t know what to do because helping just one person didn’t seem like it helped make a difference, because the problem is so vast.
I agree; it is hard to see that helping one is making a difference in this great big world. Yet, I know that God has given each of us the ability to help, each in our own way. In doing so we leave what my Pastor calls an “indelible fingerprint” on those we touch. It does matter; even to just the one we touch. We have shared Christ’s love with them, by reaching out, of ourselves to help them.
Please welcome Felecia to the first Spotlight here at Simply Helping Him!
About Felecia Clarke …
God does dramatic things in my life to get my attention and in 2008 I lost my job – which had become my god and the LORD refocused my attention, time, heart, and soul back on Him and Him alone. What a glorious journey it’s been! I believe you never quite get a glimpse of who God is until you are forced to fully lean on Him. Not just offer platitudes saying, “I’m leaning on God to get me through this or that situation;” but to actually do it. To give your future to God – fully trust Him to lead you – and don’t look back. Oh, I still struggle with the waiting and with wanting to take over until He draws me gently back into line. He’s growing me, strengthening me, and must have some pretty awesome plans for me. Recognizing the grace He pours into my life on a daily basis has been overwhelming and makes me truly thankful that He is my Lord.
Felecia writes about God’s work in her life on her blog www.alifesanctified.com, and produces Christian inspiration through her writing and photography which she turns into “ScripturePictures”. She is an avid tennis player, has just discovered Pilates, and is a voracious reader. Felecia is single, currently lives in Southern Florida, is heavily involved in several ministries at Christ Fellowship Church, has just begun work on a new charity to help the underprivileged and aspires to be a published author.

What a cool idea! I’m heading over to Felicia’s place now. Thanks for sharing her link.
And thank you for taking the True Vine Challenge this week. And for praying for my nephew. When I talked to my niece this morning, the doctor said he was showing some signs of improvement. Still a long way to go…

Thanks again, Misty for the spotlight today! I, too, like the vision of the indelible fingerprint. It is always such a blessing when you find out that you were a blessing to someone else. Its probably even more amazing – all those we don’t know we bless through our walk and with our actions. I think we’ll find that our in heaven.
Many blessings,
Felecia

Yes, I believe we miss how the littlest things can touch someone’s heart. A hug, a phone call or a note in the mail don’t take much time or money, those things mean the world to people! Thank you so much for being the FIRST SpotLight! 🙂 Blessings friend!

That we would do something, one thing, is better than no thing. And we may never know how God will use that one thing. I like the idea of leaving indelible fingerprints.

Yes, doing something is better than doing nothing at all. Blessings!
