I have been using coconut oil while on my crunchy journey. I have tried the “organic” and while I liked it, I just could not afford it. So I have been using the generic brand of coconut oil, hoping that it was still better for my family and I, versus the other oil alternatives.
I had a friend recommend Tropical Traditions to me a year or so ago, but had not been able to get any yet. I was so excited to be offered the opportunity to try their product before I bought it!
Today I baked muffins, using Tropical Traditions Gold Label Standard Virgin Coconut Oil. I couldn’t wait to try them!
While I was melting the oil to use in the muffin mix, I noticed that the scent of the melted oil was very clean. It was not overly “coconut” smelling, unlike the generic brand I have been using.
The muffins were YUMMY! Moist, flavorful, not tasting of coconut at all. That was something my family and I always noticed about the generic brand. Everything had a coconut taste to it. I have to be dairy free, so any recipe that calls for butter, I replace it with coconut oil. Some recipes should not taste like coconut, so I am thrilled to have found a coconut oil that is both healthy for my family and without an overly coconut taste to it! 🙂
I look forward to using it more, and am planning to purchase some as soon as possible!
