Pumpkin Baking with Link Up

Today is the  Tasty Treats Link Up and I’m sharing how to bake a whole pumpkin in the oven and make your own pumpkin puree. It is super easy and I LOVE that my mother in law shared this trick with me. My son said that the pumpkin bread I made with my pumpkin puree was the best he’d ever had!  🙂

Please share only your recipe posts here, tomorrow is when I host a share everything link up!

 Baking a Pumpkin

Step One

Place it on cookie sheet.

Cut slits on all sides.

STEP TWO

Bake in a 350 degree oven for approx. one hour.

Insert knife to check for readiness.

It is ready when the inserted knife slides in easily, like when you check a potato.

STEP THREE

Remove the stem and cut it in half.

STEP FOUR

Using a spoon remove all seeds and strings from each half.

pumpkin4

STEP FIVE

To remove the skin, simply slid a spoon between the filling and skin.

STEP SIX

Ensure you’ve removed all of the filling.

STEP SEVEN

Place the filling in a bowl and mash.

You could also use a food processor or blender I’m sure to quicken the puree process.

My past favorite recipes you can use this in can be found at this link and here. Heather also shared a recipe here.
