Most often the word “joy” is addressed as a feeling, like love often is. Yet, the definition combined with God’s word reveals to me that true joy is found in our faith and our relationship with God.
While we may feel “joy” throughout our lives, it is not a constant. The feeling fades, true joy cannot be taken away. (John 16:22)

This is something I really feel the Lord working into my heart. Thank you for so beautifully wording it! I appreciate you linking up with me again last week. 🙂 PS. Have I ever mentioned that I love that picture of you and your husband at the top? Cuz I do!
I have also felt the Lord pulling me to grow in these fruits, thus I began this study. It’s amazing how God speaks to many of us on the same topics! 🙂 Thank you for your kind words about our picture 🙂 It is one of my favorites as well! 🙂 Blessings!
Thank you for hosting. I am number 58, Waiting and Waiting and Waiting on God.
Not much joy while you’re waiting — you have to be very still and let it breathe gently past you. But, when you’re breathing hard because you’re impatiently waiting, it’s easy to miss it. Humans. We’re something else.
Joy is found in the Lord, no matter what we are going through. It is through Him we receive strength and His joy is our strength! Thank you for stoppin by and linking up! Blessings!
What a great message! This is so needful, but sometimes so hard to do. Thank you for the reminder. I’ve had a tough week – and I really needed to read this!
Yes, most often I find that the hard things to do are indeed the most needful! Isn’t that amazing how God pushes us to grow through difficulties? Praying your week gets better sis! Blessings and love!
Sometimes we just forget about joy 🙁 Life get’s in the way and we forget all about it. Thank you for the encouragement and thank you for hosting.
Oh yes, it is so easy to forget to find joy in the Lord. In life we look for “happiness” which is fleeting, while “joy” is eternal! Thank you for stoppin by and linking up! Blessings!
Beautifully written! Sharing a thought from our Sunday School Class this week: “Regeneration provides for eternal life and Transformation provides joy in life.” When we totally surrender our will to the will of the Father, we are blessed with maximum joy…the real thrill!
That is a wonderful thought! Thank you for sharing it and for stoppin by! Blessings!
I have been finding blog posts on joy all week and wrote one myself today!! I have been finding joy this week despite my circumstances which is a miracle since that is not natural. Thanks for such a sweet well written post. Thanks too for hosting, Misty. Have a very special week!!
No it is not natural to find joy in the difficulties, I believe due much to the fact that we are confusing “joy” with “happiness”. Both are very different, one is a state of mind and eternal, the other is a feeling and fleeting. Thank for stoppin by! Blessings!
