Welcome! As you’ll see below I’m blessed to be part of a group of bloggers who are hosting a new linkup on Fridays called, “Faithful Fridays”.
With today being the first “Faithful Friday”, I thought it only appropriate to discuss the word “faithful” and what it means to be “faithful”.
The definition of “faithful” is.…..firm adherence to the truth and to the duties of religion.
First, we’re to adhere (stick to) the truth.
What is the truth?
Jesus says that He is the truth (John 14:6), and that The Word is truth (John 17:7). Then in John 1:1, we see that The Word is Jesus.
So we are to adhere to Jesus, who is The Word.
Also in being faithful, we are to adhere to the duties of religion.
What are the duties of a Christian?
1. To love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. (Matt. 22:37)
2. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. (Matt. 22:39)
3. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (Matt. 28:19)
4. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27)
So to be faithful, we must adhere to Jesus and His ways spoken through Himself, The Word.
I pray that as we meditate on being faithful Christians, that we would be changed to become more like Jesus. In becoming more like Him, we will become faithful.

Loved what you said about becoming more faithful as we become more like Him. So true, God’s Word transforms and His spirit changes us as He works within us to make us more like Him!
