A Day in My Life

Walk with me through a day in my life…..

My alarm goes off, signaling the beginning of a new day.

With a cup of coffee, Bible and notebook in my hand I begin.

I start my day right….with my Good Morning Girls study….my quiet time with the Lord.

Breakfast needs to be made, the kiddos will be hungrily coming down the stairs.

Hugs, kisses and breakfast given out and off I go.

Gotta squeeze in time for a quick shower, before schooling my lil blessings.

Bible, Math, English and Reading too…

History, Geography, Science, Health, Sign Language, Penmanship, Phonics, Spelling….

Some of these subjects are covered in our days.

Once the book work is complete, I’m off to cook and clean.

Lunch is prepared and kiddos play outside together throughout the afternoon.

Laundry needs folding and dishes need to be washed.

Hubby comes in from a hard day’s work and is thankful dinner has been prepped and is in the cooking process.

Dinner fills our bellies, dessert tastes delish. Just one more set of dirty dishes for today.

Baths are needed from all the work and play of the day.

Bedtime stores, snuggles, final XOXO’s and tucks are complete.

The teapot is calling my name…..along with NCIS and my current Cross Stitch Project.

When I can no longer keep my eyelids open, I lay my head on my pillow and welcome sleep.

Does this sound like your day?

Probably not exactly.

Why you ask?

Because I left out the difficulties that are scattered through our days.

The crankiness, stress, arguing, exhaustion, fighting, kinks, etc.

I tried to paint a picture of a perfect day as a mother.

There will never be a perfect day. Not even the just passed Mother’s Day was perfect.

Each day will have difficulties, as well as joys.

Some days we will respond well to the difficulties, other days we won’t.

Sometimes the joys will outweigh the stress, still there will be days we’ll ask if it’s bedtime yet.

Through it all we must remember God has blessed us with everything we’ve been given…..

He created us for our husbands. Our children are precious in His sight. Our home is protection and a place to teach our children to love and serve the Lord.

May we each day be thankful for every moment He has given.

The good times to cherish, and the hard times to teach, train and mold us into what He wants us to be!

The imperfect mom… yup… I’ve been one of those for 17 1/2 years now… and will continue to be one for the rest of my life. Praise God that Christ is made strong in my weaknesses. Great post!

As I was reading the beginning of your post, I thought you are one of those superwomen who manages to let everything run in her household without any hiccups! BUT, THEN I saw that you are just one of us who needs grace for every second if every day.
    Blessings and love
