Ministry May with Wisdom Wednesday Link Up

Can you imagine receiving a gift from a stranger…..and it being the first gift you’ve every received?

This is typically the scenario when working with Samaritan’s Purse via their Operation Christmas Child ministry.

Every year we pack two boxes. Both of my children select gifts for a child in their age group. There is such joy (along with many prayers) that go into the selecting and packaging these little boxes. It takes several attempts at rearranging the contents to ensure we’ve fit as much as possible in each box.

This is such a simple way to make a big impact in a child’s life, and share Christ’s love with them.

We are called to be a light, and I’m sure that the smiles on these children’s faces create a light! All the work of a simple box via a wonderful ministry.

OCC-5 (1)

I encourage you to take a peek at this ministry, a lot goes into O.C.C.

If you live close to one of their processing centers, you can be even more involved!

I plan to take a trip one day when my children are older, and be a part of the processing center ministry. I want to be able to show my children that their 2 boxes every year were part of a much bigger picture!

Praying God directs you to the perfect ministry that He has for you!

I hadn’t thought about it before this. I can start collecting things now for a box so that it’s not an added expense next Autumn. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I love Samaritan’s purse!!! The work they do is amazing. I “met” a lady on MySpace (some years ago) who received Christ as a child through Samartian’s purse and now works for them! Her story is truly amazing. Go to YouTube and search for Lejla Allison – you’ll be amazed by her story.

I love the shoebox ministry of Samaritan’s Purse — it’s such a simple, beautiful, impacting project that regular people can do, and you can actually see what you’re doing. Practical — so unusual for many ministries.

I’m number 36 this week — Chickens, Dishwashing, and Keynesian Economics.

Yes, it is very practical, simple and straightforward. I love that my kiddos understand what it is, and how it makes a huge difference! Thank you for stoppin by! Blessings!

We love doing the boxes with the kids at christmas time! It’s a really good oppertunity to have them think about others while walking through the toy isle.

    1. simplyhelpinghim

Oh yes! 🙂 They love that! 🙂 A great reason to walk down the aisle we often avoid! 🙂 Blessings sis! 🙂
