How easily we can become entangled with the little things in life. In doing so we miss the bigger and greater, often more important things in life.
I’m learning (slowly) to ignore the messy house, laundry, etc. in order to sneak in time for Legos, coloring, kisses and hugs.
I’ve been missing my devotion schedule during the Good Morning Girls break and my vacation. I’m greatly looking forward to getting back into the Gospel of Luke. This is a big thing in my life, daily time with the Lord in the still quiet morning. Though great and wonderful things were happening, I’m ready to dig back into God’s word with friends and family.
The big things are important…..they are life changing….we must learn to embrace them….to prioritize them…..to ask God what to do with them if necessary…..we must be unafraid of big things that come our way.
In Mark 9:30-35, we find Jesus speaking of His upcoming death and resurrection.
[bible passage="Mark 9:30-35" version= "kjv"]
Yet, the disciples were too afraid to speak….too afraid to ask questions because they didn’t understand!
Instead they “brushed it under the carpet”, and started discussing who the greatest among them was.
Obviously embarrassed, they refused to tell Jesus of what they spoke.
They missed the big thing…..
Jesus’ upcoming death…..
His upcoming resurrection…..
His whole meaning for being on earth……
Their only means of salvation and eternal life…….
How often do we miss what God is trying to tell us because we’re stuck on the little things?
We must stop and ask questions when we’re unsure or don’t understand….
We have nothing to fear God is on our side.
He always works for the best in and through us.
