This week’s marriage post made me laugh….yes, laugh.
While on the way to a basketball game my hubby had brought up cleaning, de-cluttering and getting the house ready to put on the market…..again.
This is no fun in my opinion while you’re living in the home you’re trying to sell. Especially when you’re a stay at home mom, home-schooler, child care provider and owner of a dog and cat. It is necessary I know, but still no fun.
When hubby brought this subject up, I went over the reasons why I found it no fun and difficult (at best) to do this. Reminding him that I was the one at home during the day with all of the responsibility of keeping kids entertained, taught, babysitting, and cleaning the house. Add to that waiting for a phone call when people would want to come see the house and have to get all the kids, dog and cat out the door = chaos (in my opinion).
So why the story? Well, if you go back here, you’ll find my Marriage Monday post on being obedient to your husbands.
This story came from Saturday night, and I wrote the post on Sunday night.
I am in no way perfect, and still struggle….. ^^^^^ See?!? ^^^^^
So yes, I laughed……God definitely has a sense of humor.
For those wondering….I did get busy…..the last two days I’ve spent in my bathroom…..fresh coats of paint on the trim and cabinet…..a scrubbed shower…..all that’s left is to clean the windows before we paint the walls/ceiling.

Husbands are called to love their wives in the Bible, not be obedient to us. We were created to be their help meets, not vice versa. 🙂 The house isn’t on the market yet, God knows when/if it will happen. 🙂

Even so- it’s hard to keep the house clean, especially being home all day!

We have the opposite problem. We just moved and now all our friends want to come see our new home and we’ve been here less than 2 weeks. We’re not anywhere near unpacked. And we moved to a bigger home so it’s even harder to keep clean and organized. It’s hard as a housewife and a cat owner and I don’t even have kids yet. But Lord bless you and your little ones as this sounds like a challenging time for you. Hang in there. God’s blessings with selling your house.

Isn’t it interesting how the opposite has it’s own problems? LOL! I am excited to get things really moving as winter seems to be (crossing fingers) making it’s way out of here. We have a time of vaca coming first and then we’ll be getting very busy with de-cluttering. 🙂 Thanks for stoppin by! Blessings!

I had to laugh, too! Sometimes God’s timing on these things is just perfect, isn’t it? I’m getting ready to start decluttering our house for sale, too, and just the thought of it is pretty intimidating.

You’re so very welcome! 🙂 Thanks for stoppin by hun 😉 Yes, we’ve done this a few times, but are in need of a new home as our kiddos are getting older and need their own space. I am trusting knowing that God has the perfect place for us in His time! Blessings!

Our homes been on the market for awhile. But I must say decluttering was the best thing EVER! Oh my word. I got rid of so much stuff (some else’s treasures)! It made it so much easier to keep the house clean and tidy. I decluttered every room. Then I packed up a bunch of things for moving and put them in the garage. This also made it easier for cleaning up to show the house. But, after I did that I thought, do I really want all the stuff I packed up. I ended up on a chilly wintery day going through some of those boxes and got rid of more stuff. My kids are grown so I called them and said I would keep one box for them of stuff but the rest they had to take or I was donating it. My married daughter took all her things. Best of luck to you in this move 🙂 God Bless!

Oh I love the after effects of decluttering, it’s the process and trying to keep kiddos busy without the majority of their things that is difficult. I love a clean, decluttered home, just grow tired of the maintenance you have to do while you’re waiting to sell. Thanks for the encouragement sis! Blessings!

Thanks for hosting this linkup again. I had to laugh with you!! I find when I post anything about marriage that I am tested in that very area. I can give up or be strengthened in the Lord. Take heart with the moving process. We homeschooled through a move and went to the park a few too many times, LOL 🙂 You can do it too!!
