Flexibility vs. Resistance
Definition: Willingness to change plans or ideas according to the direction of my authorities
I Will….
* Not get upset when plans change
* Respect the decisions of my authorities
* Not be stubborn
* Look for the good in changes
* Not compromise what is right
Week One Activities ~
(Practicing ~ Not getting upset when plans change)
Learn to breathe. “Life is not an emergency. Life is a gift. Just slow.” (Ann Voskamp)
Week Two Activities ~
(Practicing ~ Respecting the decisions of my authorities)
At a family meeting teach and train children that God places elders over all of us. This is so we can learn to listen and obey them, so that we will be able to listen and obey Him as adults.
Week Three Activities ~
(Practicing ~ Not being stubborn)
Stubbornness is kin to selfishness. Typically we “stand our ground”, because we want it our way or it’s no way. Work on coming to agreements and meeting half way to start. Breaking is painful, time consuming and often will not last. Training a bit at a time encourages change, grows relationship, and allows for change at a pace easier to the stubborn to manage.
Week Four Activities ~
(Practicing ~ Looking for the good in changes)
Instead of seeing the bad, negative and looking at how you would have done it differently…..
Look for the light…..the positive….
Week Five Activities ~
(Practicing ~ Not compromising what is right)
Know when to stand your ground….compare issues to God’s word. Seek an elder’s wisdom when you’re unsure.

I really enjoyed reading your entry and how you set realistic but challenging goals. I especially loved your Ann Voskamp quote! Just as in scriptures Jesus encourages us not to be anxious about anything 🙂

Oh yes, Ann’s quote has changed my life this year. Just a month into it and daily I remind myself of that several times. Something about the way it is worded just speaks perfectly to my head and my heart. Thank you for stoppin by! Blessings!
