Last year, April became a stay-at-home mother to two beautiful children thanks to her husband of six years. She started her family journey unexpectedly, having gotten pregnant during her final year of law school. As an unwed mother, she struggled with a re-occurrence of depression. Her son’s father (who is her husband) has nurtured her through changing her career from lawyer to stay-at-home mother and through the losses of their son, her father and her grandmother.
Over the years, her weight has slowly risen as she worked outside the home and through her depression. Now that she is home full-time, she decided to change her focus to her family, which most importantly is her health, because without her health, she would have no family.
She firmly believes that our husband’s attraction is not only to our personality but our bodies. We, as our husband’s help meets, should try to maintain the woman he married. Although we may have had children, or we falter through other obstacles such as depression, it is our responsibility to work to get back to that woman. Sometimes that journey up is short, sometimes it’s long. What’s important is you recognizing that it’s something that you want to change and you are ready to make that change.
