More Lessons From My Hubby with Wisdom Wednesday Link Up

:Last week there was a post that really touched me, and brought back memories of my childhood. Giving of oneself to those that are often forgotten. Sharing time with those that have lived longer than we, that have tons of wisdom to share, and need to be loved.

Joy at Will you hear from me? shared her post “The Joy of Giving.”

I truly loved how they planned and all of the parts that made this night very special! I’m thinking this might be something we add to our list of Christmas doings next year! Thank you so much for sharing Joy! Be sure to swing by her corner! 🙂

On Day 11, in Ann Voskamp‘s Jesse Tree Advent Study, she covers the story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz.

I was just finishing up the lesson, when my hubby got home from work. He sat down on the couch and began asking the kiddos what they had just learned. They had been a bit difficult that morning, and I was tempted to be frustrated with the lesson time taking longer.

Breathe. Grace. Breathe.

As my eyes were closed, his voice began reading the last of the lesson again.

He then asked the kiddos if they knew what Ruth was a picture of.

They answered, “No.”

He proceeded to tell them that she was a picture of us……. She was an outsider……… A heathen.

We are Gentiles. Not of God’s chosen people, the Jews.

Thanks. Grace. Exhale. Joy.

What I’ve been striving for…..a meaningful, slow Advent season…….. Yet, I wanted to rush that day. <— Share A Lesson from My Hubby

God graciously led me to breathe, let go, give thanks, be blessed and filled with joy.

Joy. Unspeakable Joy. Grace. Amazing Grace.

  1. Oh, I hear you. I have caught myself over the past week pushing myself – and having to stop and remind myself that it’s all about grace. Grace for my family – grace for my husband who has worked 28 days out of the past month – grace for myself when I don’t meet my often-too-high personal goals – grace for people who are stressed and a little snippy…it’s hard to remember that. But my husband is better at this than I – and he reminds me of this so often!
