Disappointment and Commitment with Wisdom Wednesday Link Up

This week I found two blog posts that touched my heart and I felt that I needed to share them both with y’all.

Vicky at Having Some Work Done, shared her post “Tears in a Bottle“.

As I was reading her post, I found tears falling down my face, I could have easily written this same post! Be sure to stop by and read this heart felt post that speaks of how very much God loves us!

Lori at Be Not Weary, shared her post “When God Sets You Aside OR God is in the Stops“.

This post captivates you from the get go and you connect with every word she shares! Be sure to swing by her corner to be captivated and your heart touched!

Listening to the sadness, the disappointment in his voice…

Knowing that he really wants to go to the Lego outing with his friend.

Yet he made a commitment to his soccer team and the rain has caused a delay….making the Lego outing impossible.

Yes, I am that Mom….the one that knows that teaching commitment is more important than disappointment which will pass.

This life on earth holds disappointment. He must learn this and how to deal with it.

Commitment is a huge part of a Christian’s life. Remaining committed to Christ, when life here on earth is difficult and disappointing. Commitment as a husband…..as a father.

These lessons are much more important. They are lifelong. Not just a one hour event on a Saturday afternoon.

Commitment or Disappointment?

The choice isn’t fun…..It breaks my heart because I know how much he wants to go.

Yet I know the lesson will strengthen him and his lifelong character.

What tough lessons have you had to “teach” your kiddos?
