Coming Near…..

What are  you willing to do? To come near unto Jesus? To be touched, healed or learn of Him?

So often we say things like; “I want to grow in my Christian walk”, “I desire to truly lean on Him”, or “I want to be more like Him”.

These are all wonderful desires and most of us truly mean them. So what happens? Why do we feel as though we aren’t moving forward?

We must move. It is a choice. Just as salvation, love or forgiveness is a choice.

To draw closer, to be touched, healed, learn of, or be more like……we must move.

Mark 2:2-4

And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.”

Here we find the story of a man, who was unable to move himself. He was sick and knew he needed to see the Healer. His friends were willing to help.

They knew he had to move to be healed by Jesus.

How must we move?………..What must we move?

We physically can’t move and be near Jesus. Yet we can make changes to our lives to draw near to Him.

Our lives get so busy. Work, school, sports, plays, etc. By the time the end of our days come, we are spent. Physically, emotionally, mentally.

Something must move.

The alarm clock must move an hour earlier. Our errands on lunch break pushed until later. Our favorite TV show or book enjoyed another time.

In order to draw near to Jesus, we must move. It WILL NOT just happen! <Tweet Me

A relationship must be cultivated, watered, fed….

Prayer, reading His Word, searching, serving, sacrificing oneself. All this requires movement.

What are you willing to move today?    How are you going to draw near Him today?

James 4:8

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

This is so true! So often we can fall into a Sunday morning routine, expecting our spiritual nourishment to be filled in a few hours by the church feeding it to us. Seek and ye shall find. It’s hard to make time to move toward Christ but He never disappoints.

Thanks so much for the inspiration on Teagan’s Travels this week! Pray you will also include your Compassion International posts on my new Link Up for Compassion…

I have found in my life that to move myself to Him I must get disciplined with my time, activities etc.

Yes, we do. It doesn’t come easy and it is our choice. Relationships do not grow on their own ;) Blessings!
