When was the last time you had a multitude waiting for you? At the end of a day, when you were exhausted and you wanted to crash?
I can count on one hand how many people are waiting on me at the end of my days.
When my day is over and the clock strikes kiddos bedtime, I’m done. I want them to go to bed, no playing, no talking. It’s sleep time.
It’s my only quiet time. My time.
I’ve cleaned, cooked, taught, gardened, done lawn care, babysat, etc. all day. It’s time for me to zone out.
Yet. Jesus is to be my example. I yearn to be more like Him.
What did He do? What is His example?
Mark 1:32-34
“And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. And all the city was gathered together at the door. And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.”
It was late. He had spent all day in the synagogue. He went home with Simon and healed his mother.
“And at Even….”
Night fell. All the sick and devil possessed were brought to Him. All the people of the city of Capernaum were at the door.
What was He to do? Send them away because He was too tired? Let them wait until morning?
No, that just wouldn’t do.
He helped them. He healed them.
Jesus, as a man felt exhaustion, yet He chose to reach out and touch those in need. At the end of the day. After He had gotten home.
I’m very busy as a SAHM. I have a never ending list of things that need to be done. I sleep very well and rarely am awake long after my head hits the pillow.
What do I do in my time for someone else?
Whose life could I touch?
Typically I write my blog posts during my time. Praying as I write for God to touch the right person with the words He’s laid on my heart.
Yet I know because of Jesus’ example that I can do more! <—- Tweet
I am reminded of Jesus’ words to His disciples in the garden of Gethsemane. “…..the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)
The Holy Spirit inside me wills me to do more.
My flesh is unwilling and weak.
What ways do you find to reach out to those in need?

There are often interuptions when we think we are done with our day. The phone rings, children wake from a bad dream, and make your own list here. Jesus was tired at times too, but he found added strength to assist those who needed him.
I can see that you find that time when it is necessary.

Wow!! I feel convicted with your message…as if God meant this just for my heart which has struggled with this lately! It’s hard to keep going at the end of the day, to keep tucking the same little one in bed, to send a note of encouragement that I put off until tomorrow, to write a child in Africa who so needs that spiritual hug…thank you so much for a beautifully written post! I’d love if you’d join my Tuesday linky party Destination: Inspiration.
Blessings, Michelle

This is a subject close to my heart, I truly believe we all need to do more, and trust that God will give us the strength we need. Our spirits are willing, it is our flesh that is weak. I linked up!
Thank you for stoppin by!

Great point today! I deal with the same thing, only it’s in the morning, when my son wakes me up and I think, “Just 10 more minutes…” He’s the early bird – my husband and I are night owls.

Lol! I used to be a night owl before I had kiddos, now I’m learning I must get to bed a bit earlier than I used to. I get up a bit earlier as well. Having time for me at night and in the am helps me through my day greatly I believe!

It is hard to keep the servant attitude going after a long day. God knows my limitations, and he will test me to help me stretch and grow. Being and wife and parent has taught me how joyful serving can be. Thank you for this post and linking up!

We always think we are doing fine when we compare ourselves TO ourselves. But when we look at Jesus, the raw reality check looms large before us. Thanks so much for linking this wonderful challenge up on Teaching What Is Good today!

Just don’t lose sight of the fact that everything you do all day long is for someone else: those littles and that hubby! You have a servant’s heart, Misty!

Yes that is the most important part of serving, but I honestly believe we can do more! Thanks for reminding me, because I do forget that sometimes
Love ya sis!
