This week is sometimes a bit of a touchy subject, it is actually part of chapter 1, but I didn’t want to rush through it.
“God Hasn’t Changed His Mind”
I know many women (and I was one of them) that try and run the home. There is a line to be found, between being the wife/homemaker and “wearing the pants”.
If you find yourself making decisions that affect the whole family (hubby included) without consulting/discussing it with him first ~ that is a sure way to know you’re past the line.
Finding yourself demanding things be done a particular way not willing to discuss it or consider what your hubby or anyone else would like is another way to know.
Be sure to watch yourself for making decisions that should be your hubby’s. He is the man of the house, you are to help him. Not vice versa.
“Men are created to be helpers of God. Jesus willingly became a helper to the Father. The Holy Spirit became a helper to the Son. Society is structured so that men and women must submit to authorities like government, employers, police, the Internal Revenue Service, child protection agencies, the courts, etc. There is no loss of dignity in subordination when it serves a higher purpose. God made you to be a help meet to your husband so you can bolster him, making him more productive and efficient at whatever he chooses to do. You are not on the board of directors with an equal vote. You have no authority to set the agenda. But if he can trust you, he will make you his closest advisor, his confidante, his press secretary, his head of state, his vice-president, his ambassador, his public relations expert, maybe even his speech writer ~ all at his discretion.”
Getting Serious With God
Share with me this week a few verses that God pointed out to you ~ where you need to focus. I will pray for you!

Introduction Once Upon A Time Mr. Right?
Never Fail Pie Crust Recipe (this is my grandmother’s famous recipe)
Recipe Below is for a single crust, double for this and other 2 crust pies.
Ingredients
1 C. Flour
3/4 Tsp. Salt
1/3 C. Shortening
Ice Water
Instructions
Mix dry goods ~ Cut in shortening ~ Stir in a little ice water at a time until the dough become a ball. Flour the counter where you will roll out the bottom pie crust, to prepare for pie plate. Roll out pie crust.
**For Lattice Top Pie Crust
Roll out dough and using a pastry cutter, cut strips approx. 1/2″ wide.
Blueberry Pie Filling Recipe
Ingredients
3/4 C. Sugar
1/3 C. Flour
1 Tbl. Lemon Juice
6. Cups Fresh or Frozen Blueberries
Milk & Sugar (for brushing crust top)
Instructions
Line pie plate with one pie crust.
In a large mixing bowl stir together the sugar, flour and lemon juice. Add blueberries stirring gently until coated. (If using frozen blueberries allow mixture to sit for 15 minutes)
Transfer blueberry mixture to the pie crust lined plate.
Cover blueberry mixture with 2nd pie crust. Trim and seal edges by pinching bottom and top crust together.
**If using lattice pie crust top**
Take strips of dough and lay out 6-8 strips on top of the pie.
Pull back strips 1, 3, 5 & 7. Lay out a strip horizontally on top of the remaining 2, 4, 6 & 8th strips. Pull down strips 1, 3, 5 & 7 to lay on top of the horizontal strip.
Pull back strips 2, 4, 6 & 8. Lay out a strip horizontally on top of strips 1, 3, 5 & 7. Pull down strips 2, 4, 6 & 8.
Continue until your pie is covered.
Once covered use remaining strips to go around the perimeter of the pie.
Brush top with milk and sugar.
Cover edges with foil or pie ring.
Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes for fresh fruit or 50 minutes for frozen.
Top should be golden brown, and if using Lattice Top you can see the blueberries a little bubbly.

Proverbs 14:1 The wise woman builds her house,
But the foolish tears it down with her own hands.
I am really enjoying this study. It is always a good reminder and it ‘keep in check’ with our role as Wife and Mother. Thank you, Misty! 🙂
Love the pie crust recipe. I use the same one for my Thanksgiving and Christmas pies 🙂

Isaiah 43:18-19
Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old, behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

I love your heart and passion for marriage and its sacredness. You are certainly an inspiration.
And that pie… wow!! It looks amazing!! I embrace the fact I’m a semi-homemade cook, not a start from scratch one:)) I admire your ability.
Have a wonderful Monday…
