Beautifully Fragrant

Good morning!

I pray you have been blessed by sleep which
our Father provides for us!

In the early morning hours,
iis when I have my quiet time with my Savior.
The children are still sleeping,
the house is quiet.
I am able to study, pray and blog in silence.
Though it took time to get used to
the new schedule,
as I am typically not a morning person.

I have been studying verse by verse in
Song of Solomon,
I have not been reading chapters while doing my studying.
Instead I take on one verse at a time,
using the S.O.A.P. method,
and I LOVE it!

This morning I found this verse waiting for me.

‘I Am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.”

Such a little verse it seems,
yet packed with many thoughts for me.

Roses are by far my favorite flower,
specifically white roses.
I’m not sure why the color white
is important, but that is my favorite.

I have never seen a lily of the valley,
if I have I was not aware of it.
I would not know what it looks like.

Flowers are known for their beauty and fragrance.

Roses are loved by many.
Very common, yet favored and loved!

Roses are fragrant,
Roses are beautiful!
Roses are beloved!

Lilly’s of the valley,
the last word makes me smile

Often we are caught in the valley,
wondering where to go.
Wishing we were on top of the mountain,
yet in that valley God works in us.

In the valley, we are humbled!
In the valley, we yearn to be on top of the mountain!
In the valley, God is working in us,
so we truly can enjoy the time on the mountain top!

Who is more beautiful than my Savior?

Whose fragrance is found even in the wind?

Where does true beauty lie?
True beauty lies within.
Where does true beauty come from?
True beauty comes from my Savior,
and His working in me!

So much hype is placed on the outer beauty
of a woman in this world.
Thus many times we forget
just how important our inner beauty is.

(Before I go on to inner beauty,
I do want to speak of the importance
of our outer beauty in regards to our
husbands.)

Our outer beauty is to be
for our husbands pleasure.
It is very important to look nice
for our husbands.
Who would want to always
look at a wife in sweats
with her hair up in a knot,
when they come home?

Remember all the time you spent getting ready
when you first met?
Why did it change?
We hold a power to relight the spark
in our marriages.
Remind him of the beauty that he saw in you
from the very beginning!

Our inner beauty is for our Savior’s pleasure!
By cultivating the inner beauty
He wishes for me,
my inner beauty will be evidenced in my outer beauty.
Grace, mercy, kindness, love,
all of these (and more) are shown on the outside,
as well as the inside.

Cultivating the inner beauty of a woman,
takes more time than the outer beauty.
Yes, more time.
Which requires patience.

The inner beauty is worth so much more
than a pretty face.

A gracious, merciful, kind and loving
woman does not bloom overnight.

Like a flower,
it takes sun, water, food
and even weeding.

“Sun” is found in The Son, Jesus Christ.
“Food”, is found in His Word, The Bible.
“Water”, is found in Him and the Holy Spirit,
refreshing us when we are in need!
“Weeding” is the work He and the Holy Spirit
do within us.

Without the “weeding”
a gracious, merciful, kind and loving woman
will never bloom to be all she was meant to be…..
IN HIM!

Are you ready to bloom?
Are you ready for His beauty and fragrance
to be found in you?

Praying that your journey would be
filled with anticipation of the wonderful beauty
that He will provide in you!
